Weekly Shonen Jump's Exhibition

"Where can I get Naruto goods?"
"Where can I get One Piece goods?"

Those are the questions we are often asked at Akihabara information center.

We truly feel sorry for saying that it is difficult to find what they want in Akihabara.
We advise them to go to
・"J world Tokyo" in Ikebukuro,
・Jump Shop at "Tokyo Character Street" on the first basement floor of Tokyo Station,
and
・Jump Shop at Tokyo Dome City near Suidobashi.

If you are looking for Jump character goods, let me advise you to go to "Weekly Shonen Jump's Exhibition" held at Mori Aarts Center Gallery (Roppongi Hills Mori Tower 52F). This is a special exhibition held from July 17th to September 30th in commemoration of the magazine's 50th anniversary.

One of the recommended spots to visit in Akihabara is Yodobashi Camera, the largest electronics retail store located at East side of Akihabara Station (go through the Chuo-kaisatsu ticket barrier or the Showa-dori ticket barrier). 

Variety of the latest and convenient electronic appliances are offered from the first floor up to the 6th floor. Especially beauty apparatus must catch women's hearts.

Pictures above are taken on the 6th floor where children's toys are sold. This floor is popular among families with children. 

Yodobashi Akiba also has variety of restaurants. You can enjoy not only Japanese foods like traditional Japanese home cooking, cutlet (fried pork), eel, buckwheat noodle, ramen and sushi, but also Chinese foods, Italian foods, curry etc. You can find your favorite one among 40 restaurants.

On this floor, there is a small smoking room between men's and women's bathrooms. 

On the 9th floor, there are a batting facility and a golf practice range. Moving your body makes you refreshed.

As for other services, you can exchange your money at travelex on the first floor.

Yodobashi Akiba offers free wi-Fi serice. SSID is "Yodobashi_Free_Wi-Fi".

How to enjoy Akihabara

My first recommendation is strolling around the town, mainly Chuo street.

Visitors can find varieties of small electrical shops, cartoon goods shops, girls-in-costumes cafes, and restaurants crowded together in a confined space. 

This picture was taken at Chuo Street. It clearly shows the characteristics of Akihabra. 

This was taken at Denkigai entrance of Akihabara station. Visitors can feel an air of Akihabara.

Tokyo Anime Center

Many foreign tourists visited Akihabara information center and asked the same question.

"Where is Tokyo Anime center?"

I'm sorry to say this but it has moved to Ichigaya, the forth stop from Akihabara.

We can easily get information on the internet. It is very convenient but we have to know the information may become out of date without any notice.

I visited the facility last month. 

I dare say it is not worth going.

You can only find two desks for a cartoonist to draw cartoons as a permanent exhibition.
